Class, and not religion, as Kieren Westwood would have it, has won through in the end for Bohs keeper Brian Murphy.

Murphy, whose quality is acknowledged by people across the league, and not just Bohemians fans, has finally made it into Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad to face France, after a series of frustrating snubs.

It’s great news for the player, for the club, and for the league, and gives some new cred to the boys in green machine.

Expect Irish sports editors everywhere this evening to be asking their LoI corrs, ‘Brian who?’.  Never mind.  Just don’t call him Barry, like you usually do.

If he gets off the bench, and the sleepy Irish defence makes him work, they’ll soon catch up.
