RTÉ and Setanta, who showed next to no interest in Bohs’ away game in Salzburg, have relented and now plan to broadcast the return leg from Dalymount Park next week, according to Neil O’Riordan.
FP is slightly disappointed. A massive tantrum had been planned should the claim have proved true that RTE cameras would be there, but only to capture the game for the Austrian audience. On reflection, having people see the game is better than having them read a rant, and it’s good that the broadcasters finally agree.
Amazing what an away goal in European competition can do.
Update, Monday, 20/7/09: There’s been no independent confirmation yet that this game is to be broadcast in Ireland.
